Dr. Goodwin specializes in working with clients who are:

- trapped in cycles of alcohol and drug abuse;
- unable to stop compulsive behaviors such as overeating, overspending
or self-destructive or hostile sexual relationships;
- dealing with losses of relationships, homes and lifestyles;
- weathering difficult transitions to new careers or from long careers to retirement;
- coming to terms with disabilities and attendant changes in their relationships;
- grieving the loss of loved ones;
- overwhelmed by the responsibilities of caring for elderly parents and
- struggling to effectively parent their challenging or troubled teenage children
